Well hello there and thanks for supporting our growing Swing Dance Community here on the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers.

As you know I don’t spit our many newsletters, rather I gather enough and then every couple of months push out one jam packed full of info of you.  This rest you will hear at classes or on social media, although, I try and use our webpage more often for updates as you know how inconsistent and wishy washy FB can be at the moment.  Also, there are so many now turning off socials altogether so I will try and keep the website more current and active.  So many plans for this year to make up for last and we are busy busy behind the scenes I promise!  We will also be looking at running workshops on different dance styles and aerials mid year and will keep you posted plus popping up in odd places to spread the joy and spread the word and you will all be invited!

SOI Socials:

MULLUM:   Next Mullum Swing Night will be SATURDAY 17TH APRIL 2021 – Mullum Swings with Sebastiaan and special guest newcomer DJ’s to keep you on the dance floor all night!.
7pm start (NSW time)
Donation at the door to cover artists and costs
Restaurant opens at 5.30 (NSW time)

GOING FORWARD: the 3rd Friday of every month we will hold our regally Mullum Swings Social dance at the club and we are so blessed that we will have either Rhydian Lewis or Sebastiaan OR both each month along with new up and coming stars to showcase their talents for us and to keep your dancing not he dance floor…

GOLD COAST:  Looking at creating a social gathering/event around The Hot Potato Band on Saturday 8th May at Burleigh Bazaar. They have room to dance and tickets on sale. I will do a seperate post about arranging this.

Swing Fit is about having fun whilst getting fit.  Activating the mind and the body, improving co-ordination and balance.

Swing Fit will keep you smiling whilst you are working at it all! A choreographed series of Jazz and Swing Dance Steps done to the fabulous sounds of Big Bands, Jazz, Neo Swing and Modern Swinging sounds.

It’s on again this year and it will be a sell out show with limited tickets be sure to grab them when related.  I will give you the heads up when they are going on sale but mark the date.
Bands booked (I’ll tell you soon) and the venue will be spectacular..  and GUESS WHAT!!  There’s an AFTER PARTY!  yep, a late night swinging venue with band for us to keep on dancing.  Again, all will be revealed soon!

Bleach Festival: 12-22 August 2021

Another festival to mark on the calendar and especially because (can’t giveaway too much) … but the Burleigh Foreshore will be Swinging like never before with dedicated bands, dance floor, socials, classes, battles and demos and a few surprises.  We will keep you posted on specific days and times but check it out and I can’t wait to share this vision with you and more importantly INVOLVE YOU ALL!  Practice up kids.. it will be time to shine!

WWII Blitz Party @Mo’s

Run for cover! The Blitz Party is coming:  Saturday 28th August – Limited Tickets

Taking place in The Vaults of Mo’s Desert Clubhouse which has been transformed to create an air-raid shelter feel, a cavernous den that contains more alcoholic provisions and Blitz spirit than Churchill’s bunker, this night will recreate the wartime glamour of 1940s wartime. Victory curled ladies and uniformed soldiers can expect a night of live music, classic cocktails and 40s-style revelry.

This was one of my all time favourite nights that Swing On In have put on (aside from A Very Swellagant Affair that is!)  – We have been waiting for the right time to do it again and the time is 2021!  Wind your calendars back people and mark that date in your diary!  SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST we will be bunkering down to party like theres no tomorrow. Greazefest:

NEXT GREAZEFEST DATES:

The next GreazeFest will take place over the weekend of Friday July 30 to Sunday August 1, 2021 at Redland Showgrounds, Queensland.

All tickets purchased for GreazeFest 2020 have been rolled over to GreazeFest 2021.

We will be announcing all the news for a Covid Safe GreazeFest event in 2021.

AUSTRALIA’S ALL-KILLER NO-FILLER KUSTOM KULTURE WEEKENDER!

GreazeFest is the utmost kustom kulture event in the Southern Hemisphere, where thousands of rockabilly and hot rod fans roll up for a massive dose of ultra-kool kustom kulture. 

You can be part of this exciting weekend of cool cars, rockabilly bands, djs, fashion parades, pinups, vintage bikes, lowrider cycles, kustom art shows, art workshops and competitions, pinstripers, tattoos, markets and heaps more!
