What a Way to Finish Our Community Tea Dance Series!
Hello Swing Fambam,
Wow — I can’t believe that was our last Community Tea Dance at the CWA Hall last night!
The house was packed and pumping to the fabulous tunes of Sweet Felicia & The Honeytones, with DJ Glenn Dallaforie keeping the dance floor swinging between sets.
This whole series at the CWA Hall in Coolangatta has been such a delight, and we want to send a HUGE shout-out to Cr Gail O’Neill, Division 14, City of Gold Coast, for supporting this initiative and helping us bring more live music and community dancing to Coolangatta.
A very special thank you also to Karen, Brian and Nancy from the CWA Hall for being so wonderful to work with. We have absolutely loved making this beautiful old hall swing!
And, of course, a massive thank you to all the fabulous musicians who brought this series to life — Lady and the Sax, Katrina & The Tweed Set and Sweet Felicia & The Honeytones — plus our DJs, volunteers, helpers and every single person who walked through those doors and joined us on the dance floor.
But don’t worry… we’re not done yet!
There is LOTS more coming, so stay tuned for some news hitting the press very soon.
What’s Next?
Well… there might be a few more surprises coming soon!
But one thing we CAN tell you is that we will be bringing you another three Community Tea Dances with LIVE MUSIC, this time at the northern end of the Gold Coast in the Broadwater/Labrador area.
And — we listened!
This next series will be held on SATURDAY nights.
Dates, bands, venue and all the juicy details will be revealed in our next newsletter.
And this definitely doesn’t mean we’re abandoning our beloved CWA Hall in Coolangatta.
Quite the opposite!
We’re planning bi-monthly DJ social dance nights at the CWA Hall to help keep those Gold Coast dance floors full for you.
AND… we have a brand-new Monday night class coming to Coolangatta!

Well… That Was Fun!
Our first little “Rent Party” at a secret location in Byron Bay was uber cool!
Beautiful music, beautiful friends, a gorgeous floor and a whole lot of fun.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this little Swing On In sideshow event. We loved it so much that there will definitely be another one.
These private Rent Parties are by invitation, so if you’d like to be on our VIP invite list, make sure you let me know and I’ll add you to the WhatsApp group.

Introduction to Swing Dancing
Monday Nights
CWA Hall, Griffith Street, Coolangatta
7.30pm–9.30pm
$20pp | No partner required
This will be a fun six-week progressive course, introducing you to Swing Dancing and some of the fabulous dances that came out of the swing era.
We’ll build your skills week by week and then dedicate our seventh and final night to putting it all into practice with a relaxed social dance.

SWELL Swings the Fringe

What could be better than swing dancing by the beach as the sun sets amongst the incredible installations of the SWELL Sculpture Festival?
Swing-A-Billy Ray will be spinning all your favourite swingin’ tunes at the Fringe Bar from 4pm–8pm.
Come for a dance, come for a drink, come for the sculptures or simply come and hang out with us as the sun goes down over Currumbin.

All aboard for the headline event of the Byron Bay Lindy Exchange 2026 — The Titanic Swing Ball!
And you absolutely DO NOT have to be a swing dancer to come along.
This is a night for dancers, live-music lovers, vintage lovers and anyone who enjoys an excuse to don some fancy garb and have a frolicking good night out!
We’re transforming the beautiful historic Bangalow A&I Hall for a spectacular night of live music, dancing and nautical frivolity, headlined by the sensational Bec Whitehead & The Atlantics — a fabulous seven-piece swing band.
Dress to impress — think first-class passengers, glamour, nautical elegance or simply your finest dancing threads. Costumes are encouraged but certainly not compulsory.
There’ll be a full bar by Kombi Keg Byron Bay, a pizza truck, plenty of parking and a dance floor ready and waiting.
And when the band plays its final tune, Byron Bay Taxis will have Maxi Taxis ready to roll, with BBLX festival-goers receiving a 15% discount on fares to help get everyone safely back to their accommodation.
This is one of those nights you don’t want to hear about afterwards and wish you’d been there!
