Swing On In fun coming up – Get your diary out and mark the dates!

Howdy to our awesome Swing Dance Community Gold Coast And Bangalow, what a ride we have been on lately, Ray and I barely get a chance to come down from the Tuesday and Wednesday night Swing Dance Highs and we are back there again, not complaining though, who would not want to be on a dancing high every day!    Here’s the skinny on all the regular and special fun events coming up for your dancing pleasure..

NEW EVENT:  Swing Jam Sessions – Coming Thursday 9th May and every fortnight after that at Ground N Sound – Chirn Park – Gold Coast.

Kicking off Thursday 9th of May, this organic Swing Jam Session is open to jazz & swing musicians, open mic singers and Swing DJ’s wanting to play to the dancers, entertain the public or just enjoy the free space to explore and create great music.

Kicking off Thursday fortnightly from 9th of May 6.30pm and running its natural course…  VENUE: Ground N Sound – Shop 6/23 Musgrave Ave, Chirn Park, Gold Coast

We are hoping this night expands and grows organically, the guys at Ground N Sound are super supportive and with polished concrete floor, music memorabilia and vintage furniture this place has such speak easy character we just want to go and hang out there!

Open to all and completely FREE..

The Team behind this initiative would be Ground N Sound, Richard, our fabulous French Swing Dancer, Sue Watson in charge of Musician engagement and us at SWING On In who invite you all to come along and lets see where this goes!

Come, sing, play, dance, drink, eat, immerse and dance some more..

Regular Social Events:

1st Sunday of the Month is out Sunday Swing Sesh and May will be offering up two fabulous event for us to gather and dance at:

Join us for Lazy Sundayzzz swing dancing at different cool locations to cruisy swing tunes as played by our favourite DJ’s. We will be popping up at different locations and will advise each month of that location 1 week before the day.

Dance, Chill, Eat, Drink, Repeat!

OK Peeps, For MAY Sunday Session we have TWO events running for your swing dancing pleasure.

9am to 11am at @HOTA we are hosting Dancing on the Green in conjunction with the Markets and yes we have the whole stage to play and dance. The inaugural HARVEST MOON SWING BALL – THURSDAY NIGHT 6TH JUNE 2019 – 8.30PM – LATE – Hosted by Swing On In and Brought to you By, @Cooly Rocks On and @Twin Towns featuring the Harvest Moon Swing Band with @Melissa Western.

 

Re-live the style, glamour, romance and excitement of the Swing Era as we re-create The Harvest Moon Swing Ball, a Magical Night of Vintage Style, Dancing and Big Band Music by The Harvest Moon Swing Band Featuring Tnee-Melissa Western-Dyer Hosted by SWING On In and Twin Towns Clubs & Resorts Ballroom for the Cooly Rocks On Festival. You will be transported back to a simpler and more elegant time for just a moment. Enjoy a fabulous night of opulence, fine music, dance and gorgeous settings. Your favourite DJ Swingabilly Ray will be keeping the dance floor full in between the 3 magical sets of the Harvest Moon Swing Band featuring Melissa Western.

The Harvest Moon Swing Ball will follow the 2019 Miss Cooly Rocks On Pageant – Cooly Rocks On which is free to come an enjoy so come along at 6pm, enjoy the entertainment of the pagenat then stay for the ball (Tickets for the ball are $25 dance floor space or $35 VIP Table reserved seating) Tickets available at https://www.twintowns.com.au/events/harvest-moon-swing-ball/

Cooly Rocks On Festival is coming up in June and @Swing On In do lots of activations and dancing and Ray does lots of DJ’ing.  It’s worth a trip down or up to come and immerse, dance, experience and enjoy this nostalgia festival.  Details of the Festival are HERE

Thursday 6th June – Queen Elizabeth Stage Swing A Billy Ray DJ set 12.00noon-3.00pm
Thursday 6th June Miss CRO pageant Twin Towns 6.00pm-8.00pm – Miss Chrissy Hostessing the Pageant and Swing A Billy Ray playing the tunes – FREE
Friday 7th June – Greenmount Stage Hokey Pokey Swing Dance work shop – 10.00am-11.00am with Chrissy & Ray and social dancers from Swing On In
Friday 7th June – Flash Dance Streets of Coolangatta – 12.00noon-3.00pm  – NEED SOCIAL DANCERS – Budget to pay certain amount, first in gets the $$ the rest dance for love 🙂
Friday 7th June – night Miss Rockabilly Coolangatta Hotel 6.00pm-8.00pm – Miss Chrissy Hostessing Pageant and Swing A Billy Ray spinning the tunes then an awesome Rockabilly Band Following
Saturday 8th June – TBC  Coolangatta Hotel DJ set 6.00pm-11.00pm Battle of the DJ’s and Swing A Billy Ray will be one of them.
