From Charleville to Anzac Day to coming at ya for an epic class this week… We are back Baby!

Hello Friends!!

We have been on a wonderful dance rolla coaster, starting with a magical day at Ians place for Waterfalls and Picnics to heading on Tour to Charleville as part of the Qld Music Trails and then hit the deck running and being blessed to be able to dance for one of the many Anzac Memorial events this morning!  It’s been a hot minute of Lindy Hop/Swing Dance Fun!  So much to share:

A Wrap on the Waterfalls Picnic Swing Day

Who remembers Swing in the Flowers pre-covid?  Well since then Ian has sold that property and bought a new property for the purpose of reforestation in Alstonville and suggested we hold a Waterfalls Picnic swing dance.  Not only was it on a magical spiritual land, it was a magical spiritual day and we are so appreciative that Ian and his very small team pulled everything together to create a day all those attend will remember as a highlight!  Thank you to Shamus, Renea, Chloe, Kirk, Bev, Mae and all the rest who contributed to that day to make it such a success.  The BEST THING though, was that all those who attended contributed financially and Ian put ALL proceeds to our Not for Profit Charity “Beauties Feeling Fabulous”  … Over $1000 was donated and deposited into our account.  THANK YOU and if you  missed out, we will be sure to do this again before the end of the year.  Thanks again for the Joy!

A Wrap on Charleville

Well, that was fun!  Going on Tour with CW Stoneking, The Pacific Belles and Everybody Now.. as part of the Qld Music Trails through regional QLD…. 12 hour bus trip out which went so fast as we were all pumped!  All the Dad jokes from our driver Steve were not lost on Ray.. Be prepared at classes!  2 full days of rehearsal teaching workshops and performing then a 12 hour bus trip home which wasn’t so fast!  (Are we there yet was said A LOT!)  ha ha..  So blessed to be a part of this amazing event, to reach the outback Qld Community and share our love of dance is beyond exciting for us.    From the beautiful welcome to country ceremony to the dusty red sunset performances and being in Charleville for a once in a lifetime eclipse was pretty special.  We had some misty eye moments from some ole timer locals and some robust dance offs with the tourists on the trails..  We bonded with our tour team and learnt all about Bazza the Koala,. All in all, we had to pinch ourselves that we get to dance, perform, goof about and see cool people in this fine country!   Sometimes is great to a poor creatives! 🙂   You know what though!  We couldn’t have run away to join the outback circus if we did not have an awesome team at home to teach our classes and hold the Swing On In Fort!  A huge heart felt thanks to Dam and Paul for covering our Gold Coast Class and Ian and Deryn for looking after Mullumbimby!  I knew Ian would do the Hustle!  What a treat for you all!  LEGENDS!

Mudgeeraba Street Festival – We need dancers!

COOLY ROCKS ON… It’s coming up fast!  Have you brought your tickets to the Moonlight Swing Dance where Lucky Seven and Swing A Billy Ray will be entertaining you all night PLUS… a rare treat.. The Swing On In Dance Troupe are teaming up with Swing Patrol Brisbane and Glenn and Rachael to perform a stella routine (Choreographed by Glenn and Rachael)  for your enjoyment … Rare and not to be missed!  Let’s not forget the After Party with Melody Graves and The Hokum Redemption.  Paula, (the lead singer) was one of the instrumental dancers along with us to bring Lindy Hop to Australia back in the 90’s.. so she knows how to swing!!

The Moonlight Swing Dance is on THURSDAY 8th June

Join Ray and I as we once again host this major Swing Dance Event on the dance calendar …  The Amazing LUCKY SEVEN BAND will again be back to keep the floor Pumping!  SWING-A-BILLY RAY will be Dj’ing in between and don’t forget the AFTER PARTY!!  Melody Graves and the Hokum Redemption will be our band and the are HOT!!!
