Mullum Swing Dance Social

Friday 19th May– DJ Swing A Billy Ray spring all the favourite discs for you to dance too.  We have a guest appearance from our Swing On In Song Bird Miss Charlotte who will be on stage with our favourite crooner Mr Rhydian Lewis!  It will be 3 hours of pure dancing joy!

A night to dance away the week, meet new friends, enjoy great company and listen to the best of swing music.

7pm – 10pm – $20 at the door.
Restaurant and Bar open.

This is an amazing Festival.. It’s FREE.. So many bands, so much live music and dancing enjoyment to be had.  What a weekend this will be.  Friday Night – Mullum Swings and then Saturday Night Blues on Broadbeach?  Who wants to gather a dancing posse with Ray and I and head in to enjoy the day and night? From 9am in the morning until 9pm at night!  what a day it will be..  Check out the line up and all the details here.

Welcome to our very first Charity Supper Dance for Beauties Feeling Fabulous Inc.
A Night of Spectacular Entertainment, Live Music, Dancing, Supper, Raffles, Prizes, and Raising Awareness of what we do.
$55 per head + Booking Fee includes a glass of bubbles on the red carpet arrival and a light supper.

This night is about raising awareness and money for Beauties Feeling Fabulous Inc. A Not for Profit Charity that provides much needed FREE pampering to our Gold Coast Women living with Cancer. In addition to the pampering we offer through, massage, nails, make up, hairdressing, holistic therapies and facials we offer a safe space to offload the weariness that comes with living with cancer in todays world often alone and afraid, A place for networking and knowledge gathering that helps women to walk out with more information, comfort and feeling fabulous again even for just a little while.
BFF also provide comfort through our free Poncho service. We hand make with love, soft ponchos to give to our lovely ladies when having surgeries so they are warm, comforted and have free access for their drains and drips – A genius little thing that makes recovery so much easier!

Well, haven’t we been having some fun with new little goofy fun patterns to some Electro Swing.  Ray and I are always trying to mix it up to keep y’all interested in Lindy Hop and the learning and the week will be no different!  New tune and new pattern and some more laughs and learning .  Gold Coast is struggling a bit so if you know anyone that might be interested in having a go then shoot them our link and encourage them.. Can’t sell a secret!  Ground roots marketing always the winner so spread the word!    ALSO.. if you have an event coming up that you are heading out to and there may be a chance for an adhock dance or two, don’t be afraid to invite us and the wider Swing dance community, we LOVE to get out to random places and enjoy live music and free dancing!  Hit us up!

May is FRANKIE month!

Frankie Manning.. Who is he?  Well.. only the largest Lindy Hop influence in our life.  Yep, we learnt from him, we taught along side him and we pay our respects to him and all the Lindy Hop Legends who have paved the way of us to know and enjoy this dance today!

Frankie Manning’s birthday is May 26th but celebrations can’t be contained to just a single day, so the entire month of May honors his contributions to Lindy hop and his positive spirit.

So… Frankie passed away on April 27, 2009, in Manhattan, New York just before his 95th birthday.  He was dancing, teaching and travelling to teach right up until the end!
