Armistice Day – 11/11/2018 at QPAC with Swing On In – What an Honour!

Ray and I are very proud at the way Swing On In has grown over the years and we are so very fortunate to be surrounded by super talented, loyal and gorgeous dancers & friends within our dance community.  Through hard work, passion, dedication, long drives, nurture and a whole lot of marketing, we are making a pretty nice name for ourselves out there in the creative and corporate world.  This is really fabulous for us and our dancers, because really, at the end of the day, we just want to dance & entertain people, pay homage and show respect to the roots of the dance and the music and just have fun..

This past year alone we have danced/performed and activated spaces for:

HOTA
GLOW Festival
Dancing on the Green
City of Gold Coast
Cooly Rocks On
City of GC Library’s
Southport CBD 100 years celebrations
Commonwealth Games – Team Welcome Ceremony
Bleach Festival & Festival 2018
Numerous Corporate & Private events, Nursing Homes and Festivals and
Tomorrow night 10 of our dancers are performing and entertaining 250 guests at the Star Casino for a 1920’s Gatsby Themed Event!  Epic..

BUT... something so special and so amazing…an event (like the Comm Games) that comes but once in our dance lifetime has presented itself to us and we could not be more honoured… … Swing On In have been asked to be involved with and perform in the upcoming QPAC show – Armistice

Armistice is an exciting new theatrical performance reflecting on Australia’s wartime and peace-keeping history combining song, music, dance, spoken word and archival footage.

Marking 100 years since the end of WWI, Armistice will recognise a centenary of service, sacrifice and achievement.

This is a FREE show and will have TWO screening times on Sunday 11/11/2018.

Performers will be:  Ray & Chrissy,  Paul & Danielle and Kristian & Jordan.  Costume fittings and rehearsal times set and we are sooo excited.. Now the work begins!

YEP.. THATS MY HANDSOME DAD ABOVE (IN VIETNAM)

I am thinking I will need tissues side of stage…..  A military Family for our whole life, My Dad (No longer with us) served for many years in Vietnam and it crushed him into a million pieces and ultimately took him from us too early, My Brother Denny, was also in the Army, now dedicates his life to publishing, preserving and telling the stories of our war heroes, those fallen and those still with us – Thank you BIG SKY PUBLISHING..  So proud of my families service to our country and somehow I will feel just a little bit closer to my Dad on this day whilst dancing my heart out on stage to hopefully a packed house of patrons paying respect and honouring this moment in our history.  I like to think that my Mum, Dad & Elisha just may visit and watch from above on that night with hearts swelling…

Til Next Time

Swingin Regards

Chrissy & Ray and our ever growing Swing On In Team
