Howdy Swing On In Fambam, Friends and Community,
We had a blast performing and social dancing last night at Swing Patrol Brisbane’s Christmas Rave! Thanks for all the dancers and the fun! I will post videos and pictures as they come to hand but here are a couple that came through today that I love! We had to train largely through sharing videos and seeing the final syncronisity in this pics shows we nailed it! Thanks also to Glenn & Rachael who have worked and trained with us to get us to performance ready for the routine they choreographed! It’s a killer and we appreciate you! Thanks also to Scottie and Arrienne and Leigh from Swing Patrol Brisbane who join forces with us regularly to promote dance and perform in random places! It’s a great working partnership we have with our Brisbane cousins!
As we swiftly swing into the end of the year, We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for the incredible support you’ve shown Swing On In throughout this year.
A special shout-out goes to our dedicated guest teachers and the unsung heroes who contribute their time week in and year out. A heartfelt thank you to Derryn for her exceptional commitment to training our troupe dances, and a warm welcome as she joins our teaching team for 2024!
Renae & Kerrie, your consistent support for beginners hasn’t gone unnoticed, to all our experienced leads who stay on and help out every week, we thank you! and to Angel Gabrielle and all those who lend a hand on the Gold Coast and Mullumbimby – your caring and support define our community.
A special mention to our passionate Swing dancers who attended Lindy exchanges around Australia this year – your dedication reflects the true spirit of Swing On In. It’s a source of immense pride for Ray and me to witness your pursuit of dance excellence beyond our studio walls. I will do a seperate newsletter and post letting you know of some of the great Lindy Exchanges coming up around the world and of course letting you know what its all about! Thats a next week job!!
To those who embraced the challenge of sharing iconic Lindy hop moves in iconic settings through videos – your enthusiasm and creativity are truly appreciated. It adds a playful touch to our community.
As we wrap up the year, a gentle reminder about our upcoming Christmas party. Please note the time difference due to daylight saving – 1pm NSW Times so us Banana Benders need hit the road earlier. We will have guest DJ’s and the fabulous Miss Charlotte singing for us!
In closing, I want to express our deep gratitude to all of you – long-time friends who have been part of our journey for 28 years and the new faces bringing fresh energy. Your presence brings us immense joy, and we’re grateful to share our passion with you.
