**Gold Coast Lindy Fest:**

Hey team, this is coming up super fast and we hope to see you on the dance floor at one of the fabulous events. There will be amazing international dance instructors holding workshops over 3 dats and 3 major swing dance social nights.  Lots of social dancing & learnings to be had. **A Very Fabulous Affair:** – Supported by Cr Nick Marshall – Division 12

Tickets are now on sale! This charity supper dance supports BEAUTIES FEELING FABULOUS INC. with all monies raised going towards continuing our free pamper days for the women of the Gold Coast living with and navigating a cancer diagnosis.

 

**Event Highlights:**

 

– A 20-piece swinging band called The Project Swing Band

– Belly dancing Burlesque performance by the amazing Miss Vena Cava

– A breathtaking didgeridoo performance by the fabulous Lincoln Eade

 

We are thrilled to have the lovely Heather and John returning this year to cater the supper. Those who came last year couldn’t believe how much they got and how beautiful it was. We will also have an open bar and, of course, raffles, prizes and lots of social dancing.

 

Don’t feel like you need to be a swing dancer to come to this event. We will cater for all types and tastes. Don’t wait till 28 September to buy your tickets. If you plan on coming, why not jump on and grab them now? We sold out last year, and we hope to sell out again this year.

**World Shim Sham Day Video:**

On 26 May, we gathered on the beautiful shores of Kingscliff Beach as a vibrant community of swing dancers to share and celebrate Frankie Manning’s birthday by participating in a worldwide Shim Sham.  A compilation video has been put together by the fabulous Marketa Cekanova from Uganda!  Swing On In features six times, and we are so proud to be dancing with and alongside many countries around the world, including the US, the UK, Europe, Southeast Asia, and many more. Lindy Hop really does bring the world together. Thank you to everyone who participated.  See video HERE

 

**Upcoming Festival: BLEACH*

I am working on a festival called Bleach. This is an arts and culture festival in its 13th year. Some of you may love to come out and enjoy the Gold Coast music network, free entertainment all weekend, or see some arts and culture, theatre, and contemporary dance. All this wonderful work is made in place.  This is what I get up to when I’m not teaching dancing.

Welcome to the 2024 BLEACH* Festival!We invite you to adventure with us and experience a different side to this city across two big weekends. From North Burleigh headland to the rolling green hills of Tallebudgera Valley; from the ebb and flow of Nerang River to the rooftop of HOTA, the 13th BLEACH* Festival invites audiences to ‘listen to their heart’ and discover epic and intimate out-of-the-box experiences connected to our place – Australia’s Gold Coast.BLEACH* is the Gold Coast’s annual contemporary arts festival. The festival is proudly local, celebrating the city’s incredible landscape and using it as the backdrop to stage world-class artworks created by some of Australia’s finest artists.Visit the what’s on page for the full program.

**Mullumbimby Dance Class Cancellation:** (ONE NIGHT ONLY!)

Due to the annual Orchid Show which falls on a Thursday, we have had to cancel THURSDAY 12 September ONLY!   We apologise for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing every other Thursday night!!
