Hey Swing kids!

We hope you’re grooving your way through the week and jazz’d up a storm on the dance floor over the weekend. Here’s a quick update on the exciting happenings in our Swing On In world:

1. **ABC Radio Interview:** Tune in today as Miss Chrissy takes the airwaves by storm, sharing our passion for Lindy Hop and our vibrant Swing On In dance community. Listen to the interview below and get inspired to swing into action!

2. **Introducing “The All Vinyl Swingin’ SoirĂ©e“:** We’re thrilled to announce our newest regular social dance night, “The All Vinyl Swingin’ SoirĂ©e,” happening at Ground N Sound! Get ready to spin and sway to the timeless tunes of vinyl records, creating unforgettable memories with fellow Swing enthusiasts. Details below!

3. **Mullum Social Dances:** Keep your dance shoes ready as our Mullum social dances are gearing up to hit the scene soon! We’re working on finalizing the dates, so stay tuned for more information on when and where to join in the fun.

4. **Classes in Full Swing:** Our classes are buzzing with energy, laughter, and plenty of fancy footwork! Last week was an absolute blast as we stole, danced, and laughed our hearts out. Huge thanks to everyone for bringing their A-game and making every night a memorable one!

5. ** Teaching in Sydney:  Chrissy is on the road with all things charming soon to Sydney where she has been asked to teach there Mama Stew at the Wriggle Room in Sydney!  Going to be a hoot!

6.  **Moonlight Swing Dance at Cooly Rocks On:** Did you secure your presale tickets for the Moonlight Swing Dance at Cooley Rocks On? They disappeared faster than a jitterbug! General public tickets are now available, so don’t miss out on this enchanting evening under the stars. Stay tuned for an electrifying band announcement coming your way soon! Link below for tickets.

      A great interview today with ABC Gold Coast’s Bern Young talking about Swing On In, Cooly Rocks On  and our love and passion for Lindy Hop!  I hope you can feel the joy and the sparkle in my eyes as I speak about this amazing dance and the dance culture here on the Gold Coast.  

       
      I really wish I could, bottle this feeling and give it away freely to everyone to drink in the goodness so they too were inspired and ignited to get up on the dance floor and dance. Good for the soul. Good for your mental health. Good for the health benefits and so good for the social engagement.

2. **Introducing “The All Vinyl Swingin’ SoirĂ©e“

Join us each month for a series of speakeasy get-togethers: the ‘All Vinyl Swingin SoirĂ©es’ at Ground and Sound, curated by the cool cats at Swing On In and Ground n Sound.
Every 4th Saturday, we’re transforming the joint into a haven of Swing, jazz, and jump blues, all spun on vintage vinyl.
Picture yourself decked out in your swankiest threads, sipping on craft cocktails, and grooving to the rhythm all night long. And guess what? No cover charge, but hey…let’s spread some love and support the bar tip the DJ who keeps the vinyl tunes flowing.
It’s the epitome of style, music, and good vibes all rolled into one. So, jot it down in your Moleskine, set a reminder on your retro alarm clock, and let’s create some unforgettable memories together!
 
FREE Swing dance Taster Class as an added bonus for you at 6.30pm before the night begins.

3. Mullum Social Dances

We are working behind the scenes with the club to come up with some dates for our Mullum social nights – So Stay tuned and Keep your dance shoes ready as our Mullum social dances are gearing up to hit the scene soon!

4. **Classes in Full Swing:*

I love this pic of Ian & Isabel – just some of the genuine laughter and fun at every class!

Last week was such a hoot..  we are loving the feedback about our class structure and how much you are enjoying it!  Last week we threw a curve ball of fun and did a steals class for the transitions!  So much laughter.. fun for all whether you were a raw beginner looking on at the madness or whether it really was your transition class gone haywire or maybe you are that advanced dancer that never really knew how to steal!  I think everyone got something form our class this week and we promise to bring more of the balance of laughter and learnings along this week as well!!!

5. ** Teaching in Sydney:

Love it when my 2 worlds collide!  I am headed to Sydney to teach a sold out Vintage Styling Workshop at a fabulous new Swing Dance venue called the Wriggle Room.  What I love most about being a part of a bigger dance community/family is that we all look out and support each other!  Whilst I am using their awesome new venue to teach gals of all ages and walks of life the art of creating a cool Vintage Vibe with Hair and Makeup I will also be flipping into some swing dance teaching the next day teaching the local Sydney Swing Kids the iconic Mama Stew.. They will all be 100 years younger than me but I’m pretty sure I’ll keep up when it comes to doing 3 rounds at full speed! 🙂
