Mother Day Filming at Kingscliff – We need you!

We are looking for a bunch of dancers, all ages, looks etc dressed casual street but colourful pop to be in a little promo video Dylan (From Mullum Class) is going to do for us.  Make an afternoon of it…  Make Mums day special for her in the morning and lunch then pop on down to the foreshore in front of community centre at Kingscliff by 2.30pm and dance away the twilight with us.  All welcome.

Workshops In the Studio Coming Up:

15th May – Belly Dancing for Beginners with Miss Vena Cava – $60pp

29th May – Balboa with Scott & Arrienne – $80 pp

5 June – Solo Jazz/Charleston Routines with Chrissy & Ray – $45pp

3 July – Beginner Aerials with Chrissy & Ray – $60pp

Swing On In Social Dances/Events coming up:

Dance Fasta with Pasta – FREE Pop Up Swing Dance Parties with Live Bands at Nonnas Gold Coast:

No Obligation to eat but the food is bloody good! Come and have a drink and a dance with us. Undercover, outdoors, tiled dance floor.
It’s all FREE! Super popular so when you book your table, request one for outside so you are close to us and the band!
Each Month we will bring you different Live Swing Bands to keep you dancing Fasta with Pasta.

Friday 27th May – Rhydian Lewis – Join us as we enjoy the Swingin/Crooner tunes of the Fabulous Mr Rhydian Lewis.  

Friday 24 June – The Cherry Swing Band:  Cherryn and Eddie Bray head an all star line up with this Swing Band to keep you on the floor all night!

Friday 22 July – The Harbour Company Swing Band – a little surprise coming.. This Swingin Band will be playing all your jazz standards and then some to keep the party going.
Mullum:  – Friday 17th June – 7pm to 10pm – $20pp – Mullumbimby Ex Services Club – 58 Dalley St – 3 of the coolest cats to entertain you:  The Dapper Crooners Sebastiaan Scholtens and Rhydian Lewis plus Swing A Billy Ray spinning the discs!

Festivals to be at: Such an exciting time here in SEQld with so many wonderful music festivals coming up..here the 3 most important in your calendars!  Hope to see you on the dance floor at one of them!

BLUES ON BROADBEACH – 16-22 MAY – ALL FREE

Apart from all the best of Blues, Motown, Swing and everything in between this festival is a must go to for fun, street dancing and just listening and watching amazing musicians.  In amongst all the headline acts we have our own favourites playing as well:  1.  Melody Graves and The Hokum Redemption, 1.  Peaches and the Alphsonics, 3. COOLY ROCKS ON – 8 – 12 JUNE 2022 – ALL FREE

 

One of our Favourite Nostalgia Festivals and so many bands, so much dancing and fun to be had and YES this is where we have the Harvest Moon Swing Ball as well.  Swing A Billy Ray will be spinning the disc each day as well at the Ball and also we will be doing some dance workshops on the Thursday Morning.  We will list all the bands we will be popping up at closer to the time in case you want to catch up.

 

GREAZEFEST – 29 – 31 July 2022 – Cleveland Showgrounds

Our favourite Kustom Culture Rockabilly Festival.  A fantastic line up this year after a Covid Shutdown last year killed our spirits, this year is coming at us bigger and better than ever.  Ray will be DJ’ing some sets, I am emceeing the Wild West Pin Up Parade and I will have a Pop Up Salon doing Vintage Hair and Makeup and Selling a Tonne of Vintage that I don’t wear or can no longer fit into!!  Bargains galore!    BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!

That’s all from me tonight folks!  I off to bed relatively early as I start a new and exciting job tomorrow!  Nervous and excited, I’ve curled my hair twice already and ironed 15 outfits!  Sheesh!  I never iron!  Wish me luck and catch you all at classes this week or next perhaps or on the social dance floor.
