Swing Dance Community Get Together on Sunday 19th July – Southport RSL with Rhydian Lewis

Join us for some eats and drinks and listening to the crooner voice of our favourite Swingstar Mr Rhydian Lewis.  Rhydian will be playing from 1pm at the Southport RSL and will be sure to be playing all your favourites so come along and catch up with us all.

Gold Coast Classes Recommence:

KICKING OFF 21 JULY 2020
 
Welcome back everyone, we are GOOD TO GO for Godl Coast Classes. (Bangalow still out for now)
 
What you need to know:
 
* We have a Covid Safe Plan in Place as does the club and essentially that means:
 
* When you arrive you will need to fill in your details on the Contact Tracing Register (Sign in sheet)
 
* Upon arrival there will be santitizer at front counter for your use upon entry.. We encourage you to wash hands in between classes.
 
* You must come with a dance partner and stay with that dance partner (no rotations) UNLESS, you come with a group, i.e.: your own Pod of friends and you can rotate amongst yourselves. Your dance partner can be anyone you choose and feel comfortable with not social distancing from i.e.: you dance regularly with, from the same household, friends, partners, family etc. There are enough dances to go around, it just may mean a bit of prep to partner up prior to class.
 
* Due to limited numbers allowed i.e.: about 15 couples (30 pax) we need you to advise whether you are coming or not so we can note your place.
 
* You must bring your own drink bottle (No communal water station)
 
* Bar and Restaurant is open as usual – so eat & drink and be merry!
 
* We will be running 2 classes only and tailor those to capture everyones dance level. Classes start promptly at 7 and we should be finished by 9pm and out of the club by 9.30pm.
 
 
For now only, due to small numbers we are making the class $20 per person (We will return to $15 a head when things pick up a bit and will assess each month.
 
**MEALS are $12 on a Tuesday so grab some grub at the club!
 
** Bring the kids!
 
Welcome to 2020 and our swing dance class that will be jam packed throughout the year with:
 
Lindy Hop, Charleston, Shag, The Big Apple, Jazz, Technique, Lead and Follow Exercises, Mini Patterns, little routines, rhythms changes and some surprises and of course we guarantee: fun, joy, laughter and Repeat!
 
Our Gold Coast classes are held at Club Mermaid, 9 Markeri Street, Mermaid Beach
Whats Happening with Bangalow?
Well we thought we were good to go but a slight curve ball has come our way so we need to look for another venue for the winter months.  There have been some greta suggestions not he group page which we will investigate and see what we can come up with.  Hoping things may change and the Bowlo can have us back earlier but at this stage they have said no as they need to space for dining.  Thats all good, we will work something out and get back to you all.
